Water V. Oil: A National Juried Exhibition of Watercolor and Oil Paintings

Water V. Oil is a nationally juried exhibition of oil and watercolor paintings. All artwork must use either Oil or Watercolor paint as the primary medium (85% paint minimum). Work may be 3D, but the paint medium should be the focus of the piece.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 submissions (one image per artwork submission). Additional submissions up to 10 works are $5 each. Artists must submit a minimum of 3 images; if submitting fewer than 3 works, use additional image slots for detail images or submit the same work multiple times. Work must arrive hang or pedestal ready with no sawtooth hangers. Maximum dimensions are 60" in longest dimension and 50 pounds in weight; size and weight restrictions may be waived by contacting the Gallery Director at [email protected] prior to submission.

The exhibition runs February 10 - March 9, 2024, with a reception on Thursday, February 15, 2024, 5:30-7:30pm. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm Saturday, February 3, 2024. Artists will be notified by email by 5pm Friday, January 19, 2024. The juror is Corinne Lilyard-Mitchell, Retired Interim Director and Instructor at Tidewater Community College. Awards: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $300, 3rd Place $150. Gallery commission on sales is 60% artist/40% d'Art Center. The exhibition will be featured both in-person and digitally on d'Art Center's archive site. Artist statements must be 555 characters or less. The artist is responsible for all shipping costs; works must include pre-paid return labels through UPS or FedEx only. Works not picked up within one month of the exhibition end become property of d'Art Center.
