Water - Small Works 2017

Water – Small Works 2017 is a national juried charitable exhibition welcoming photographically based works about water in all forms – running, still, dripping, lakes, oceans, rivers, rain, abstract, representational – exploring how precious or vital, beautiful or calming, messy or destructive water can be. All works must be framed and not exceed 12x12 inches. This competition is open to national artists and photographers 18 years and older. The juror is Glynis Berry, A.I.A., LEED AP, a gallerist, architect, and planner. 10% of proceeds from the entry fee and sales (Gallery's commission) benefit Hurricane Harvey relief.

Entry fee is $50 for up to three photographically based works. Digital submission deadline is October 15, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Accepted entries will be notified by email by October 20. Framed works must arrive at the Gallery between November 15-17, 2017. The opening reception and awards presentation is Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. The exhibition runs November 25, 2017 – January 7, 2018. Unsold works must be picked up between January 11-13, 2018.

Awards: First Place $300, Second Place $200, Third Place $100. All accepted works participate in the group gallery exhibit. Accepted works must be properly framed using bright white solid core mats and flat white frames with maximum front profile width 1 inch, braided wire, and frame bumpers, ready to hang. All works must be for sale with commissions split: Artist 50%, Alex Ferrone Gallery 40%, Hurricane Harvey relief 10%.
