About This Call
The Idaho State University Department of Art, in partnership with NSF/EPSCoR MILES, announces an open call for contemporary art exploring water ecology. The exhibition runs from March 28 to May 7, 2016.
Juror: Basia Irland, an author, poet, sculptor, installation artist, and activist who creates international water projects. Irland is Professor Emerita at the University of New Mexico, where she established the Arts and Ecology Program. Her work examines how communities of people, plants and animals rely on water as a vital element. Her projects span three decades across Africa, Canada, Europe, South America, Southeast Asia, and the United States, and are featured in her book Water Library (University of New Mexico Press, 2007).
Entry fee: $30.00. Applicants may submit up to 3 images, 3 audio files, and/or 3 video files (total of 3 work samples required). International artists are eligible. Entry deadline: February 19, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
