Water + Color National Juried Exhibition 2020

The Pence Gallery announces a national juried exhibition celebrating watercolor in contemporary art, juried by Sandy Delehanty. The exhibition is open to all artists residing in the U.S. working in watercolor and gouache on paper or Yupo. No other surfaces, acrylics, pastels, collage, digital images, prints, or reproductions are accepted. All work must be completed within the last five years. The maximum outside dimensions of the frame must not exceed 48" wide. All paintings must be framed behind glass or plexiglass; plexiglass is required on all shipped paintings. Frames must be wired with raw ends of wire taped to prevent injury to handlers. Works with protruding nails, staples, or saw-tooth hangers will not be accepted.

Applicants must submit between 1-6 digital images of work at www.callforentry.org and pay a fee of $40 for Pence members or $50 for non-members. Artwork that differs from images submitted will not be shown. Prizes totaling $10,000 will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place artists at the discretion of the juror. Accepted work may be hand-delivered to the Pence Gallery in Davis, California between February 5-6, or shipped (insured by the artist) to arrive by February 6. Shipping expenses are the responsibility of the artist. The Pence Gallery will insure all artwork while on premises through April 2nd.

The exhibition will be displayed in the Main and Community Galleries (1600 sq. ft. with 12-foot ceilings) from February 14 through March 31, 11:30 AM-5 PM (closed Mondays). A reception will be held February 14, 6-9 PM with awards at 7:30 PM. A juror talk by Sandy Delehanty is scheduled for Sunday, March 1 at 2 PM. Pick up of exhibited work is April 1-2, 11:30 AM-5 PM. Sales are encouraged; the Pence Gallery retains a 40% commission on all work sold. Prices quoted on the entry form may not be changed after acceptance.
