About This Call
Cafe Marguerite, located in the heart of the arts district of Northeast Minneapolis, invites visual artists' responses to the question, "What does warmth mean to you?" The exhibition explores the intersection between literal heat generated from bakery ovens and café espresso machine steam wands and the friction emanating from political discourse and issues of justice. Artists are encouraged to submit work that is playful, charged, practical, or electric—exploring what is aflame within their creative world this winter season.
The show opens January 9, 2026 and will hang for 10 weeks (through March 23, 2026). An opening night party will be held Friday, January 9, from 5:30–8 PM, featuring guest DJ Megan O and Cafe Marguerite poet-in-residence Sara Dovre Wudali. Wine, beer, cocktails and food will be available for sale. All artists will receive a drink ticket, and an artist talk will take place at 6 PM.
Eligibility: Local. Categories include Craft/Traditional Arts, Photography, Drawing, Mixed-Media/Multi-Discipline, and Painting. Entry fee is $10 for three pieces of art. Submission deadline: December 19, 2025.
