WAOWing the Texas Hill Country is a juried exhibition open to all WAOW members working in all mediums, excluding photography, digital art, and fiber art. The exhibition runs November 15 through December 15, 2012, at R S Hanna Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas.
Eligibility requirements include: original work completed within the past two years (2010–2012) that has not been exhibited in previous WAOW juried shows; three-dimensional works must be no more than three years old (2009–2012) and exhibited no more than twice in any WAOW juried exhibition, with edition size limited to 45; artwork must be available for sale; painting image dimensions may not exceed 12" by 16" (unframed); sculptures may not exceed 25" in any direction; and work created with instructor guidance or in a workshop setting is not eligible. A maximum of three pieces will be selected for inclusion in the show, though artists may submit up to five pieces for consideration.
Entry fee is $50 for three submissions, $55 for four submissions, or $60 for five submissions. Submissions must include 3–5 digital images. Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), 1st Place ($500), 2nd Place ($250), 3rd Place ($100), three Jury Awards ($100 each), and the Allen Award ($100) for the best plein air painting. Accepted work must arrive by November 10, 2012. Sales split: 2D work is 40% to R S Hanna Gallery, 55% to artist, 5% to WAOW; 3D work is 40% to gallery, 60% to artist. Artists are responsible for shipping and insurance both ways. An opening reception and awards presentation will be held December 7 at 5–9 p.m., with artist demonstrations in the morning and early afternoon.
