WAOWing the Golden State

WAOWing the Golden State is a juried exhibition open to all WAOW members working in all mediums, excluding photography, digital art, and fiber art. The exhibition runs June 4-30, 2010 at the Olaf Wieghorst Museum in El Cajon, California.

Eligibility and Requirements: Original work completed within the past two years (2008-2010) that has not been exhibited in previous WAOW juried shows is eligible. Three-dimensional works must be no more than three years old (2007-2010) and exhibited no more than twice in any WAOW juried exhibition, with edition size limited to 45. Painting image dimensions may not exceed 40" by 30" (unframed). All artwork must be available for sale and professionally framed and ready to hang. Work created with instructor guidance is not eligible.

Submission Details: Submit 3-5 digital images online at www.CallForEntry.org. Entry fee is $50 for 3 submissions or $60 for up to 5 submissions. Accepted work must be delivered to the museum between May 25-28, 2010 from 10am-3pm. Artists are responsible for shipping and insurance both ways. An opening reception and awards presentation will be held June 4, with additional events including a Quick Draw and artist demonstrations on June 5.

Awards: Best of Show $1,000; 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $250, 3rd Place $100 for both 2D and 3D categories; three Jury Awards at $100 each; and the Allen Award $100 for best "Alla Prima, Plein Air" painting. Sales commission: 20% Museum, 20% WAOW, 60% Artist (3D work: 20% Museum, 13% WAOW, 67% Artist). The museum will pay artists by July 30. Unsold work can be picked up locally on July 2 between 10am-3pm or will be shipped by the gallery after July 15.
