WAOW Inc.: 44th National Exhibition - WAOWed in San Diego

WAOW Inc. presents the 44th National Exhibition - WAOWed in San Diego, held at the Women's Museum of California from May 2-31, 2014. This juried exhibition is open to all WAOW members working in all mediums, excluding photography, digital art, and fiber art.

Eligibility and Requirements: Original work completed within the past two years (2012-2014) that has not been exhibited in previous WAOW juried shows. Three-dimensional works must be no more than three years old (2011-2014) and exhibited no more than twice in any WAOW juried exhibition. Two-dimensional artists must include at least one miniature work (longest side 12" or smaller including frame). Large painting submissions may not exceed 20" in either length or width (excluding frame). No size limitations on 3D submissions. Edition size is limited to 45. Artwork must be available for sale and professionally framed and ready to hang. Artist signature must be covered before submission. Up to five pieces may be submitted, but a maximum of two pieces may be selected for inclusion.

Entry and Fees: Submit online at www.CallForEntry.org using pass code waowsandiego. Entry deadline is February 19, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fee is $50 for one to three submissions, $55 for four submissions, or $60 for five submissions. Additional image fee for 4-5 images is $5.00. Accepted artists must pay a $20 promotional materials fee within ten days of notification. Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), 1st Place 2D and 3D ($500 each), 2nd Place ($250 each), 3rd Place ($100 each), three Jury Awards ($100 each), and the Allen Award ($100) for best plein air painting (if minimum of ten plein air pieces are accepted). Approximately 250 paintings and sculptures will be selected. Sales commission: 2D work 20% to Women's Museum of California, 20% to WAOW, 60% to artist; 3D work 33% divided between Museum and WAOW, 67% to artist. Accepted work must arrive by April 28, 2014 (shipped) or April 27, 2014 (hand-delivered). Notification of acceptance will be emailed and posted online no later than February 28, 2014.
