Wanderlust: The Art of Travel + Escapism

Blue Line Arts invites artists to submit work for Wanderlust, a juried exhibition exploring escapism and the desire to travel in all its forms. This theme welcomes a broad interpretation, from the physical to the fantastical, the nostalgic to the futuristic. Artists are encouraged to explore art that delves into the longing for other worlds, whether through travel, imagination, memory, or alternate realities. Escapism is not limited to the natural or geographic—it could mean a retreat into the digital realm, the inner sanctum of the mind, or the uncharted territory of dreams.

Artists working in all mediums are encouraged to apply, including painting, sculpture, digital media, photography, mixed media, textile, installation, and video art. All artwork must be original and completed within the last two years, ready to hang (for 2-D works), and for sale. Artwork cannot have been previously exhibited at Blue Line Arts. Size limitations: art must be able to enter through doors with clearance of 94"h x 91"w, ceilings are 10 feet high, and nothing over 60 lbs will be accepted.

Entry fee is $25 for non-members ($5 each for additional images up to 10 total). Current Blue Line Arts Artist Members ($75 or above) submit free—contact [email protected] for discount code. Applicants must be 18 years or older and open to all artists in the United States. Exhibition dates: August 16–September 27, 2025. Deadline to enter: June 7, 2025, 5pm PST. Artist notification: June 21, 2025, 5pm PST. Shipping deadline: August 3, 2025. Hand delivery: August 10–11, 10am–3pm. Opening reception: August 16, 2025. Pick up unsold work: September 28–29, 10am–3pm. Non-member artists receive 50% commission from gallery sales; members receive 60% commission. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must provide prepaid FedEx or UPS labels for return shipment.
