Wanderlust

Webster Arts is accepting submissions for Wanderlust, a Winter exhibition focusing on 2D and 3D visual art that presents the desire to travel the world, see far away places, and a love of exploration. The German word Wanderlust describes a desire to move about, and in the modern age often describes the desire to go somewhere new and explore the world. Webster Arts invites artists to share their journey of Wanderlust, which travels the spectrum from the pastoral to the technological, the individual to the global, deeply personal to communal, and the ancient to the modern.

Open to all artists aged 18 or older residing in the US. Entry deadline is January 26, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fee is $25 for 3 entries, $5 for each additional entry up to 10 images. Submit between 3-10 JPEG digital images (1000-1920 pixels on longest side, 72 PPI, 5 MB maximum). The exhibit will consider artworks of all mediums except video. Framed wall pieces must be wired for hanging and no larger than 48" x 48". All wall works on paper must be framed. Three-dimensional works must not exceed 32" x 32" x 60" or weigh more than 50 pounds. All work must be original conception and execution of the artist listed on the application. No reproductions or work previously exhibited at Webster Arts galleries.

Accepted works will be exhibited February 24-March 31, 2023. Artists will be notified by email on February 3, 2023. Delivery or drop-off deadline is February 23, 2023. Opening reception is Tuesday, February 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Webster Arts, #2 Summit Ave, Webster Groves, MO 63119. An independent juror will select work for inclusion and award cash prizes ($250 Best in Show, one $100 Award of Excellence). Sales are encouraged, with Webster Arts receiving a 30% commission.
