Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts - 40th Annual

The Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts is the largest juried fine art exhibition in Eastern Oregon, held in Joseph. The festival is dedicated to promoting the arts and supporting artists, reflecting the beauty, culture, heritage, and traditions of the region through representational/traditional realism and contemporary art from the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

The festival accepts work in the following categories: Sculpture (wood, clay, stone, bronze, or other metal); Painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache); Drawing (pastel, pencil, graphite, charcoal, ink, or combinations); Printmaking (woodblock, engraving, etching, monoprint, aquatint, linotype, lithography, silkscreen, or digital prints); Photography (any photograph beginning with lens capture, including digitally altered); and Other (glass, jewelry, fiber arts, ceramics, or mixed media). Copies, kits, reproductions, or work done under instructor supervision are not eligible. Work must be original and must not have been displayed in a previous Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts show. All accepted work must be made available for sale, and each piece entered must be the same one accepted in the jury process.

Entry is open to all artists with a $30 non-refundable fee for up to 3 pieces (maximum of 2 pieces per artist will be juried into the show). Size constraints: 3-dimensional pieces must not exceed 72" total (L+W+H), and 2-dimensional pieces must not exceed 36" on any one side (including framing). Entries are submitted online via CaFE with 1 image per piece. Artists must provide a brief biography of 150 words or less. The entry deadline is July 31st at 11:30pm MDT/10:30pm PDT. Acceptance emails will be sent August 8-12. The festival runs September 16-18 at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture, 403 N. Main St., Joseph, OR 97846, with an opening night reception Friday, September 16th (7-10pm) and closing Sunday, September 18th (2pm). An optional extended exhibition period through September 24th is available.
