About This Call

The 39th Annual Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts is the largest juried fine art exhibition in Eastern Oregon, held September 17-19 at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture in Joseph, OR. The festival is dedicated to promoting the arts and supporting artists, featuring representational/traditional realism and contemporary art from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The festival reflects the beauty, culture, heritage, and traditions of the region through its arts and artists.

The festival accepts work in the following categories: Sculpture (wood, clay, stone, bronze, or other metal); Painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor); Drawing (pastel, pencil, graphite, charcoal, ink, or combinations); Printmaking (woodblock, engraving, etching, monoprint, aquatint, linotype, lithography, silkscreen, or digital art prints); Photography (any photograph captured through a lens, including digitally altered photography); and Other (glass, jewelry, fiber arts, ceramics, or mixed media). Copies, kits, reproductions, or work done under instructor supervision are not eligible. Work must be original and must not have been displayed in a previous Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts show. All accepted work must be made available for sale.

Entry deadline is August 1st at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $30.00 (non-refundable) for up to 3 pieces. A maximum of 2 pieces per artist will be juried into the show. Size constraints: 3-dimensional pieces must not exceed 72 inches in total (L+W+H), and 2-dimensional pieces must not exceed 30 inches on any one side (before framing). Entries are submitted online via CaFE (https://www.callforentry.org). Artists must submit 1 image per piece and provide a brief biography of 150 words or less. Acceptance emails will be sent between August 9-13. The festival includes an opening night reception on Friday, September 17th (7-10 p.m.), with the show open to the public September 18-19. An optional En Plein Air Competition runs September 11-17.
