About This Call

The 33rd Annual Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts takes place June 5-7, 2015 at the Joseph Community Center in Joseph, Oregon. This is the largest juried fine art exhibition in Eastern Oregon, dedicated to promoting the arts and supporting artists. The festival features contemporary art and traditional realism reflecting the beauty, culture, and traditions of the region.

The festival is open to all artists working in sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed media, glass, jewelry, fiber arts, ceramics, and collage. All work submitted must be original, for sale, and must not have been displayed in a previous Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts show. Entry fee is $30.00 for up to 3 pieces. Submit 1-3 images per entry. Pieces weighing more than 200 lbs. or two-dimensional work measuring more than 20 square feet will not be considered. The deadline for entry forms and images is April 3 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Acceptance emails will be sent April 18.

Shipped artwork is due May 26-June 1. Hand-delivered artwork can be delivered May 30-31 (noon-5 pm) to Valley Bronze Gallery, 18 South Main St., Joseph, OR 97846, or June 3 (11 am-2 pm) to Joseph Community Center, 102 East 1st Street. The opening reception is Friday, June 5 from 7-10 pm. The festival is open to the public Saturday (10 am-5 pm) and Sunday (10 am-2 pm). Cash awards and ribbons totaling approximately $4,000 will be given at the discretion of the judge, including awards for Best of Show, People's Choice, Best Photography, Art of the American West, Wildlife Art, and Western Heritage. The Festival retains a 25% commission on all sales. Accepted artists are invited to participate in a silent auction where artists receive 50% of final bids. A special Quick Draw event takes place Saturday, June 6 at 6:30 pm with up to 15 artists creating finished work in 1.5 hours.
