WACC 131st Exhibition of Women's Art

The Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati, the oldest existing Woman's Art Club operating without interruption in the United States, is hosting its 131st Annual Juried Art Exhibition from April 7-28, 2024 at the Woman's Art Club Cultural Center (The Barn), 6980 Cambridge Avenue, Mariemont, OH 45227. The exhibition showcases fine art works produced by women from Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. The jurying process focuses on craftsmanship, color, and composition with an emphasis on diversity in style and subject. Computer-generated art will not be accepted.

Eligibility: Women only, at least 18 years of age, and must reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky. Entry fees are $50 for WACC members with current dues and $65 for non-members. Submissions are limited to a maximum of two entries, though only one may be accepted. Work must be original, created within the last three years, not previously shown in any juried exhibition, and must be for sale. A 20% commission from sales is required. Frames are required for most 2-D pieces, with exceptions for gallery-wrap stretched canvas (at least 1.5" deep), wall-mounted pieces designed without frames, and other specified formats. Wall art including frame must not exceed 40" x 40". Sculpture, glass, and 3-D artwork must fit on a pedestal measuring 20" x 20" x 39". Photography cannot be digitally enhanced, manipulated, or altered. All work must be hand-delivered and retrieved; no shipped works are accepted.

Awards total more than $3,500, with a Best of Show Award of $1,500. Jurors are Dennis Harrington (director of the Alice F. and Harris K. Weston Art Gallery), Keri Ann Wolfe (Director of Exhibitions at The Dairy Barn Arts Center), and Marie Rigney (Independent Art Consultant and Curator). The exhibition reception and awards presentation is April 7, 1-4 PM, with awards presented at 2:00 PM. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 10 AM-2 PM and Saturday-Sunday 1-4 PM. Hand delivery of entries is March 26 (4-6 PM) or March 27 (10 AM-12 PM). Art pickup is April 28 (4-6 PM) or April 30 (12-1 PM), in-person retrieval only. Artwork remaining at The Barn after May 31, 2024 becomes the property of the Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati.
