WACC 126th Annual Juried Exhibition of Women's Art

The Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati, the oldest existing Woman's Art Club operating without interruption in the United States, presents its 126th Annual Juried Art Exhibition from May 10-26, 2019 at the Woman's Art Club Cultural Center, 6980 Cambridge Avenue, Mariemont, OH 45227. The opening reception and awards presentation will be held Friday, May 10, 6-9 PM.

This exhibition showcases fine art works produced by women from Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. The jurying process focuses on craftsmanship, color, and composition with an emphasis on diversity in style and subject. Computer-generated art will not be accepted. The exhibition will be selected and judged by Jim Glover, a nationally recognized oil painter with 30 years' experience in wildlife illustration and graphic design, and Mark Gingerich, a contemporary impressionist painter and founding member of the Ohio Plein Air Society.

Eligibility: Women only, at least 18 years of age, residing in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky. Entry fee is $65 for non-members, $50 for WACC members in good standing as of 12-31-18. Deadline for entries is March 31, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entries must be submitted online; fees paid by check must be received by March 31, 2019. Artists may submit up to two entries, but only one may be accepted. Awards total more than $3,500, with Best of Show Award of $1,500.

Work must be original, created within the last 3 years, not previously in a juried exhibition, and must be for sale (20% commission retained by WACC). Computer-generated art, work created in instructional settings, and digitally enhanced photography will not be accepted. Most 2-D pieces require frames; exceptions include gallery-wrap stretched canvas, wall-mounted pieces, fabric pieces, works on panels, wall sculptures, and 2-D glass art. Wall art including frame must not exceed 40" x 40". Sculpture, glass, and 3-D artwork must fit on a pedestal measuring 20"x20"x39". All works must be delivered ready-to-hang. Accepted work must be hand-delivered and retrieved; no shipped works accepted. Delivery dates: Tuesday, April 30, 4-7 PM and Wednesday, May 1, 10 AM-2 PM. Acceptance notification by email April 15. Pick-up dates: Sunday, May 26, 4-5 PM and Tuesday, May 28, 10 AM-2 PM. Artwork remaining after June 28, 2019 becomes property of WACC.
