WABI-SABI

Art Fluent invites artists worldwide to submit artwork to an online exhibition titled WABI-SABI. The theme explores the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, which refers to that which is impermanent, imperfect, aged, humbled, and unconventional. Artists are invited to show wabi-sabi from their perspective, exploring the simplicity of composition and the meaning and beauty of everyday objects.

Submissions must be in JPEG format following CaFÉ guidelines, with images at least 1,200 pixels on the longest side and maximum file size of 5 MB. Artists may submit 1-20 images. Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry. For 3D work, there is no additional fee for detail shots; additional views may be sent by email to [email protected]. JPEGs are due by May 27, 2022. Notification of acceptance and online gallery opening will be by June 24, 2022.

All accepted pieces will be displayed in the online gallery at www.art-fluent.com. Awards include Best of Show ($750) and two Director's Choice awards ($250 each). The exhibition is curated and juried by Creative Director Amy Matteson Neill along with an anonymous committee of jurors. This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. Work that has been previously selected for Art Fluent exhibits or work copied or done under instructor guidance is not eligible. All fine art mediums are accepted except film/video. Artists receive 100% of sales. A portion of entry fee proceeds is donated to organizations committed to the arts and supporting artists.
