About This Call

2020 Women & the VOTE seeks artist submissions celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Amendment 19, which granted women the right to vote. This amendment was ratified on August 18, 1920 and will be celebrated in this exhibition at the nationally accredited Loveland Museum from February 8 through April 5, 2020. Artists of all 2D and 3D media are encouraged to submit work related to the Suffrage Movement, its history and visionary leaders, and/or a personal reflection upon women's continued quest for equal rights.

This call for entry is open to all artists of two and three-dimensional media. Artwork should be contained within a 24" x 36" space; sculpture is permitted, and works larger than 24" x 36" may be considered as space allows. Artists may submit up to 3 individual artworks. Artwork must be of professional quality and an original design created by the submitting artist. Artwork selection will be based upon the individual artworks submitted and reviewed by a jury panel consisting of the 2020 Women & the VOTE Steering Committee and 2 guest jurors.

Artists will not receive compensation for being accepted into the exhibition; however, artwork may be available for sale. All sales will be handled by the Loveland Museum, which will retain 35% of the purchase price, with sales checks mailed to artists within 30 days of the exhibit closing date. A cash prize of $250 will be awarded to the artwork selected as Best in Show, with additional prizes possible. Artists are responsible for shipping and insuring accepted work. Artwork must be delivered ready to hang or display by January 14-24, 2020, and must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. All artwork information must be provided by January 10, 2020 to be included in the exhibit. Artists will be notified of acceptance by October 15, 2019, with signed acceptance letters due by November 1, 2019. Entry fee is $25.00.
