Voltage: The Power of Contemporary Jewelry

"Voltage: The Power of Contemporary Jewelry" is a multi-faceted exhibition and sale highlighting SNAG's diverse membership. The exhibition theme explores how the power of jewelry lies in the spark generated by the maker and their unique observation of the world. Applicants are asked to consider the profound impact of inspiration and the different trajectorial changes that have kindled an emergence of new work.

This call is open to all current SNAG members. Two submission options are available: Option 1 (Online Only Submission) has a $20 application fee with an October 15, 2021 deadline. All submissions will be included in an online exhibition and sale running through January 15, 2022. Option 2 (In-Person Exhibition and Metalsmith Magazine Inclusion) has a $35 application fee with an extended deadline of October 8, 2021. Selected work will be on view during New York City Jewelry Week (November 15-21, location TBD). One submission per applicant; submissions include 1 full image and up to 2 detail shots. Work must contain a wearable element and be within 144 square inches (12"x12" or 24"x6") for in-person consideration.

For all sales, SNAG retains a 25% commission and credit card fees; artists receive 75% of the retail price. Payment is made at the end of the month in which the piece sells. For payouts exceeding $600, artists must complete a W-9 prior to payment. For in-person exhibitions, SNAG handles shipping to and from venues and insures work for the wholesale value (75% of retail price) while in SNAG's possession. Artists are responsible for insurance during transit to SNAG and must include a pre-paid return shipping label.
