VIVID: A Juried National Exhibition of Vibrant, Bold, Loud, and Brilliant Artworks

VIVID is a juried national exhibition featuring both 2D and 3D artworks in all mediums and styles that are exceptionally vibrant, bold, loud, and/or brilliant in color. The exhibition is open to all functional and non-functional fine art and fine craft. This is an in-person exhibition that will also be featured digitally on d'Art Center's archive site.

The exhibition will be co-curated by gallery manager Amanda Bradley and exhibition juror Rachel McCall, Vice President for the Downtown Norfolk Council. The exhibition takes place during d'Art Center's 37th birthday celebration and Party of the Year. Exhibition dates are Saturday, February 11, 2023 through Saturday, March 11, 2023, with a reception on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5:30-7:30pm. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by email by 5pm on Monday, January 17, 2023. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm Saturday, February 4, 2023.

Eligibility is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original, created without the aid of an instructor or kit, and produced within the last eight years. Entry fee is $35 for 3 works (one image per submission), with additional submissions at $5 each (maximum of 10 total). Artists must submit 3-10 images for jury consideration. Works cannot exceed 50 pounds or 60 inches in longest dimension, though size and weight restrictions may be waived by contacting the gallery manager. All work must be hang/presentation ready. Awards include 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $300, and 3rd Place $150. Gallery commission on sales is 60% artist, 40% d'Art Center. The d'Art Center does not provide insurance coverage for damage during shipping and transit.
