Visual Arts Showcase, 28th Annual

Visual artists in the Portland region are invited to submit their work to Beaverton's 2010 Visual Arts Showcase, to be held February 7-20, 2010, in the Beaverton City Library. Showcase artists will be honored at an opening night gala on Saturday, February 6, 2010. Prizes will be awarded including four $200 first place awards and a $500 "Best of Show" prize.

Eligibility: Artists must live in the Portland metro area. All work must be original and completed within the last two years. An accepted piece from a previous Showcase may not be entered again. The sales price of a submitted work may not exceed $5,000. No student work or work done in a class is eligible. All artwork must be for sale. A total of four works may be submitted for consideration. Work samples should include 1-4 images.

Entries must be submitted by Friday, October 30, 2009. Notification of acceptance will occur the week of December 14, 2009. Accepted artworks must be delivered to Beaverton City Library on Friday, January 29, 2010, from Noon to 3 p.m. Artwork must be picked up on Sunday, February 21, 2010, from Noon to 3 p.m. There is no entry fee. Selected artists will be asked to pay a $20 hanging fee at the time of artwork delivery. Artists must volunteer at least three hours during the exhibition. A 30% commission will be taken from all sales. Artworks will be insured for up to 70% of the indicated sale value while on exhibition; insurance in transit is the responsibility of the artist.
