About This Call
Visual Aid recognizes that recognition, exposure of artwork to wider audiences, and funding are essential to artists' ability to continue the production of creative work.
Portfolios submitted as part of applications are automatically considered for exhibitions and special recognition awards. Every portfolio is reviewed by guest curators and Visual Aid staff for potential exhibitions and referrals. Applications are examined by a Review Panel of art professionals who nominate artists for special recognition awards. Each year, the awards are curated by prominent gallery owners.
Timely, updated, professional, and complete applications that meet the guidelines are eligible for full funding in the form of Voucher Grants, which are awarded twice per year as funds become available. The organization awards the maximum amount possible depending on available funds. Applications that do not meet the guidelines may be considered for partial funding at the discretion of the Review Panel. Commercial work will not be considered for exhibition or funding. Applicants must submit between 10 and 20 images.
