Visions of Green (2026)

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork exploring the color green. This is a national call for entries with no restrictions on subject matter or style. Artists are encouraged to consider how they utilize green in their work—whether it permeates the entire image, appears in small sections, or functions as a narrative or structural device. All approaches are acceptable, including traditional or experimental, representational or abstract, unified or fragmented, lucid or mysterious.

Accepted mediums include painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, ink, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography. Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to a maximum of 9 images. All images must be submitted as JPEG files under 5 MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Submissions are made exclusively through CAFE (CallForEntry) at https://www.callforentry.org. The entry deadline is February 28, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Artists will be notified of acceptance on or about April 23, 2026.

Accepted artwork must arrive at the gallery no later than June 15, 2026. The exhibition runs from June 19 through July 18, 2026. Artwork specifications include: maximum 48 inches (framed) on the longest side and not exceeding 45 lbs for paintings; sculpture not larger than 28 inches on any dimension; all artwork must be equipped with stretched wire for hanging. The gallery will return unsold artwork July 21-27, 2026. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs both to and from the gallery and must provide prepaid return shipping labels. Awards include an "Art of Distinction" Award, an Annual Grand Prize offering a New York City exhibition opportunity, and an optional Director's Choice Award of $200.
