VISIONS OF GREEN

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels (emerging to established) to submit original artwork exploring the color green. No restrictions on subject matter or style exist for this exhibition. All approaches are acceptable—traditional or experimental, representational or abstract, unified or fragmented, lucid or mysterious. The gallery accepts painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, ink, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography.

Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 different images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to a maximum of 9 total. All images must be submitted as JPEG files under 5 MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Submissions must include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion. The entry deadline is May 11, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance on or about June 19, 2025 by email. Accepted artwork must arrive at the gallery no later than August 22, 2025. The exhibition runs August 27 - September 27, 2025.

Artwork specifications: Paintings and mixed media must be equipped with stretched wire attached to the back (sawtooth hangers are not acceptable). Artwork should not exceed 48 inches (framed) on the longest side and should not weigh more than 45 lbs. Sculpture should not exceed 28 inches on any dimension. Photographs should be framed if a traditional presentation is desired, with black or white frames preferred. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs both to and from the gallery. A prepaid return shipping label must be enclosed with all shipped work. An "Art of Distinction" Award will be granted at most exhibitions, featuring one selected artist in a special exhibit. One artist will also be selected annually for a New York City exhibition opportunity. A Director's Choice Award of $200 may be granted at the discretion of the Executive Director. For sales, artists receive 70% of the final sale price and the gallery receives 30%.
