Visions in Pastel

This is a national open juried exhibition of two-dimensional pastel work. Artists who are legal residents of the United States and 18 years of age or older are invited to participate.

Eligibility and Requirements: All entries must have been made in the past 3 years (2021 or later). Artwork previously exhibited in a juried PPS show or at the Community Arts Center is not eligible. Accepted artwork must not be exhibited concurrently with an online show. All works must be in dry soft pastel with at least 80% of the finished painting in dry pastel. Oil pastels and varnished dry pastels are not accepted. Paintings must not have been done under teacher supervision, either in a class, workshop, or from instructional media. All work must be framed, wired, and ready to hang with no saw tooth hangers or clip frames allowed. If matted, the mat should be white or off-white, with double mat liners no more than 1/4" wide. The framed painting cannot exceed 48" on the longest side with no minimum size requirement.

Entry Fees and Sales: Members pay $40; non-members pay $50. All work must be for sale. Once accepted, the price cannot be changed. The Community Arts Center will receive 40% of the sale price with the remaining 60% going to the artist. All paintings must hang for the duration of the exhibition. Shipped artworks must be received between September 30, 2024 and October 11, 2024. Handling fees are $25 for work received in an AirFloat box or $60 for non-AirFloat boxes and are non-refundable. Payment and prepaid return shipping paperwork must be included with shipped artwork. Once accepted, works cannot be withheld from the exhibition under penalty of a two-year exclusion from future juried PPS exhibitions.

Image Submission: Submit original high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Crop images to show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background. Ensure images are oriented correctly and use the sRGB color profile for best results.
