About This Call
Virtual Paint Out Poulsbo (POP) is a free virtual art competition and exhibition hosted by Peninsula Music & Arts Society (PMAS), a non-profit organization promoting and supporting the arts through scholarships, information, shows and educational opportunities for Kitsap County communities since 1994.
Eligibility: 2D student artists living in or attending school in Kitsap County are eligible to enter. Entrants may submit up to three pieces completed within the last year (after June 6, 2020). Acceptable categories include Traditional Art (painting, watercolor, drawing, mixed media) and Digital Art (fractal/algorithmic, 2D computer graphics, photo-painting, digital collage, 2D digital painting, manual vector drawing, integrated art/mixed media, hybrid painting, raster painting, computer-generated painting). Work cannot be based on copyrighted or previously published materials. Entries must be submitted digitally between March 31, 2021 and May 7, 2021 via CallforEntry.org.
Jury and Awards: Artwork will be juried by a panel of local and regional professional artists. Artists will be notified by May 15, 2021 of accepted entries via email. Juried pieces will be displayed on PMAS' website from May 15-21, 2021, showing only the artist's first name, artwork title, and artist's statement. Awards total up to $1,550 across age categories (Ages 5-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14-16, 17-18), with additional People's Choice ($100) and Facebook "Like" Raffle ($100) awards. An awards ceremony will be held via Zoom on June 5, 2021, with award checks mailed June 8, 2021.
