About This Call

Virginia-Highland Summerfest is a 2-day neighborhood arts festival taking place along tree-lined Virginia Avenue in Atlanta's historic Virginia-Highland neighborhood on June 6-7, 2026. The festival attracts over 20,000 attendees and features an Artists Market, Makers Market, Music Stages, a 5K run and KidsFest. The event is heavily promoted through social media, local radio, and print media.

The juried Artist Market features artwork from 200 of the best artists in the southeast region and beyond, accepting fine art, folk art, fine crafts, and hip and funky art across categories including clay, drawing/graphics/printmaking, fiber/leather, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography/digital art, and wood. All artwork must be handmade by the attending applicant, with no buy/sell allowed. The Makers Market includes handmade items such as soaps, lotions, candles, pet items, plants, and consumables like gourmet nuts, chocolate, jams, honey, and sauces.

Summerfest will present $800 in total award monies with Best of Show receiving $500, second place $200, and third place $100. The application is free with a limit of 3 applications per artist. Applicants must be present during the entire festival and provide 4 digital images including a required booth shot. The organization is staffed by volunteers and 100% of net proceeds are donated to neighborhood preservation and improvement initiatives.
