Viral Hope

Bitfactory Gallery is seeking artwork created since the start of the pandemic (January 1, 2020 forward). The work can be obviously pandemic-related but does not necessarily need to be. It can simply reflect your personal journey as an artist during this timeframe.

Artists may submit up to three individual pieces of wall-hanging, two-dimensional work with a maximum of 3 images in total. Maximum size for two-dimensional work is 48 x 48 inches (including frame if framed). Accepted media includes photography, painting, collage, fiber/textile, mixed media, wood, glass, and printed work for which the artist's hand manipulated the plates, stones or screens and which have been properly signed and numbered as a limited edition. No open-ended or poster prints. Giclée prints are not permitted. Artwork must weigh less than 35 pounds and be ready for installation upon arrival, wired and ready to hang. Unframed artwork edges must be finished with no staples. Canvas or cradled substrates may be no less than 1 3/8" deep. The entry fee is $35 for up to 3 artworks. All fees are nonrefundable.

Artwork may be shipped to Bitfactory Gallery, c/o Bill Thomason, 4720 W Princeton Ave, Denver, CO 80236-3200, and must arrive by August 16, 2021. Hand delivery is available August 13, 2021, 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The exhibition runs August 20 - September 9, 2021, with an opening reception August 20, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Awards include Best of Show ($500), First Place ($200), Second Place ($100), Third Place ($50), and Honorable Mention. Work must be available for sale; Bitfactory Gallery retains a 50% commission on sales. Artist is responsible for all insurance covering artwork while on display. Unsold artwork can be picked up September 10, 2021, 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Juror: Amy Metier, BFA and MFA in Painting, former Professor of Fine Arts at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
