About This Call
The Cincinnati Art Club, the second oldest art club in the nation, presents ViewPoint 50, an open juried exhibition celebrating 50 years of fine art in all media except photography. The exhibition will be hosted by Greenwich House Gallery and open daily from September 14 through October 13, 2018, with an opening reception and awards ceremony on Saturday, September 15th.
Eligibility: Open to artists 18 years and older. All work must be original in concept and executed by the entrant after January 1, 2015. All artwork must be for sale with a 50% commission payable from each sale. Excluded media include photography, crafts, fiber, computer-generated art, painting on photos, and jewelry. Paintings created in workshops or classes are not acceptable. Top award winners from 2016 and 2017 (1st, 2nd, 3rd Place or Gallery Representation) are ineligible to win those awards in 2018. Entrants are eligible for one award only.
Artwork Requirements: Framed dimensions shall not exceed 48" wide (frame excluded). Each piece must be suitably framed and ready for hanging. Gallery wrapped canvas finished and/or painted on all sides is acceptable. Artwork requiring glazing should use Plexiglas or other plastic glazing. Free standing sculpture must not exceed 36" x 36" x 60" high and must be stable or attached to a stable base. Wall sculpture must adhere to the same dimensions and framing as paintings and is limited to a depth of 15".
Entry Fees: $50.00 single entry, $25.00 second entry, $25.00 third entry. Use coupon code VP50 to get the 4th entry free. Payment accepted online or by check payable to Cincinnati Art Club, mailed to: Cincinnati Art Club, ViewPoint Entry, 1021 Parkside Place, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
Awards: 1st Place $3,000.00, 2nd Place $1,000.00, 3rd Place $750.00, plus additional cash and in-kind awards to be announced.
Submission: Online submission closes July 16, 2018. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by July 12, 2018. Selection results will be emailed August 6, 2018 and publicized on the CAC website August 8, 2018. Shipped works due September 5, 2018. Hand-delivered works accepted September 9-10, 2018, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Greenwich House Gallery, 2124 Madison Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45208.
