About This Call
ViewPoint 47 is an open juried exhibition for fine art in all media, except photography. The Cincinnati Art Club, the second oldest art club in the nation, is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2015. The exhibition will be hosted by Eisele Gallery of Fine Art, located at 5729 Dragon Way in Cincinnati's Fairfax neighborhood. The exhibit runs October 3-31, 2015, with an opening reception and awards on Friday, October 2, 2015, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
Entry fees are $50.00 for a single entry, $25.00 for a second entry, and $25.00 for a third entry. Use coupon code VP47 for a fourth entry free. Awards include 1st Place $2,000.00, 2nd Place $1,000.00, and 3rd Place $750.00, plus additional cash and in-kind awards to be announced. Artist's awards are being created by Rookwood Pottery Company. The exhibition jury includes Dr. Julie Aronson (Curator of American Paintings, Sculpture and Drawings at the Cincinnati Art Museum), Ken Emerick (Director of Individual Artists Grants and Percent for Arts, Ohio Arts Council), and Paige Williams (Professor and Studio Program Chair at the Art Academy of Cincinnati). Robert Hagberg serves as the Final and Awards Judge.
Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years of age and older. All work must be original in concept and executed by the entrant after January 1, 2013. All artwork must be for sale with a 40% commission payable to Eisele Gallery of Fine Art from each sale. Excluded media include photography, crafts, fiber, computer-generated art, painting on photos, and jewelry. Paintings created in workshops or classes are not acceptable. Framed artwork dimensions shall not exceed 48" wide (frame excluded) and must be suitably framed and ready for hanging. Free standing sculpture must not exceed 36" x 36" x 60". Work samples should include 1-4 images. Postmark entry deadline is August 8, 2015. Selection results will be mailed August 22, 2015. Shipped works are due Friday, September 18, 2015. Hand-delivered works may be delivered Thursday, September 24, 2015, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
