Veterans Park Mosaic Mural for the City of Mansfield (Texas)

The City of Mansfield, Texas, is seeking proposals from a qualified artist to create an original mosaic mural to be installed for outdoor display on a street-level bridge wall located near the Mansfield Veterans Memorial at Julian Feild Park. This will be the first commissioned mosaic mural created under the new city-sanctioned Public Art Program. The artwork shall be a unique design created by the artist, and may not be a duplication of an existing art work. The artwork must be a large-scale, mosaic mural designed to be a permanent installation on a street-level bridge wall, with dimensions 2.5 feet tall x 51 long. The mural will be located on the site of the new Veterans Memorial Park. The artwork must feature abstract, patriotic symbolism. Due to the location of this installation, no text should be featured in the design. The design must be easily visible for passing traffic moving at 40mph. The artist must complete and install the project by October 30, 2026. The City has allocated $15,000 (all-inclusive) for this public art project. This funding will cover all costs associated with the artist’s responsibilities, which include the design, procurement, delivery, and installation of the artwork, as well as coordination with the architect of record for site integration.
