Vermont Pastel Society 2026 Juried Show

The Vermont Pastel Society invites submissions for its 2026 Juried Show, running April 2 – May 28, 2026 at the South Burlington Public Art Gallery in Vermont. The competition is open to all active members of VPS. Artists may submit up to 3 paintings per entry at $15 per entry.

Works must be created with soft (dry) pastel, with the final surface at least 80% traditional soft pastel. Oil pastels are not accepted. Paintings must be original work from your own reference, completed within the last three years, and not previously exhibited in any VPS competition. Work created in workshops, classes, or online group scenarios is ineligible. All submissions must be framed (including glass or acrylic), labeled, and ready to hang from wire. The physical artwork must be a faithful representation of the submitted image.

Awards include: First Place $500, Second Place $300, Third Place $200, Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod Award $100, and Mallory Lake Memorial Award (set of pastels). Submit high-quality JPEG images at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images must be cropped to show only the artwork with correct orientation.
