VENUS RECLAIMED: Strength & Identity

Venus Reclaimed is a figurative art exhibition celebrating the resilience, power, and evolving identity of women. Reimagining the timeless symbol of Venus, this show moves beyond traditional ideals of beauty to explore themes of strength, transformation, and self-definition. Through diverse artistic voices, the exhibition honors the modern woman—unapologetic, dynamic, and deeply rooted in her own narrative.

Submissions may include paintings, drawings, photography, digital, mixed media, and sculpture. Works should be thought-provoking, emotionally resonant, and relevant to the themes of the exhibit. All submitted works must be original. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for consideration. Artwork must not exceed 50" wide. All artwork must be available for sale. Paintings do not need to be framed but edges must be clean and dry. Works on paper must be framed for security and protection. Installation, digital, and video art are not eligible due to space limitations.

Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years and older worldwide working in any 2D or 3D medium including drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, mixed media, and sculpture. Submission fee is $30 for up to 3 artworks (early bird through January 15, 2026), then $35 after January 15. High-resolution images in JPEG format only are required. Selected artists will be notified via email no later than February 3, 2026. All accepted artwork must be in the gallery by February 28, 2026. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the gallery if artwork is not sold. A selection of accepted works will be displayed in the gallery showroom, while all accepted works will be listed on Artsy.net. The gallery retains a 50% commission on all sales. Exhibition dates are March 5 to 28, 2026, with an opening reception on Thursday, March 5 from 6 to 8 pm. By submitting, artists grant 33 Contemporary Gallery permission to publish work in print, online, and on social media for exhibition and marketing purposes, with attribution to the artist.
