Variations 2025

The Marblehead Arts Association (MAA) invites artists from across the country to participate in Variations 2025, an 8-week juried exhibition of 2D and 3D artwork. All mediums are welcome. Artwork will be juried for acceptance and judged for prizes in Fine Art, Photography, and 3D works. Awards will be presented at the Opening Reception on Sunday, April 20, 2025.

Eligibility is national. Artists may submit digital images for up to 3 pieces of artwork. Entry fee is $35 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry (maximum 3 entries). MAA members receive a $10 discount on their first entry. Work sample requirements: minimum 1 image, maximum 3 images. If accepted, the work sent for exhibition must be the same work represented in the images used for judging. No substitutions will be accepted. Submissions accepted or exhibited in Variations 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024 are not eligible for Variations 2025. Artists under 18 must have a parent or guardian provide contact information.

Judges include Leon Ducette (Fine Art, Cape Ann Museum), Jodie Mim Goodnough (Photography, Salve Regina University), and Emily Miller (3-D, Municipal Bonds Gallery). Cash prizes of $1,000, $250, and $100 will be awarded in each category. Exhibition dates are April 19–June 14, 2025. The MAA is located at 8 Hooper Street, Marblehead, MA 01945. Jury dates: February 16–27, 2025. Notification of juror's decisions: March 7, 2025. Deadline for arrival of accepted artwork: April 12, 2025. If artwork is sold during the exhibition or within 30 days following closing, the artist receives 60% and the MAA receives 40%. All sales must be made through and recorded by the MAA.
