Valdosta National 2020

The Valdosta National 2020 presents the best in contemporary art nationally in an all-media competition. Hosted by the Valdosta State University (VSU) Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery in Valdosta, Georgia, this is the 32nd year of the annual juried exhibition. The entry fee is $35 for one, two, or three artworks. Artists may submit 1-3 images and 0-3 videos (total of 1-3 samples). Awards total $1,500.00. The exhibition runs January 21-February 7, 2020, with an opening reception on Tuesday, January 21, 6PM-7:30PM.

Eligibility: Open to all artists over 18 living in the United States. All artwork must have been completed in the last 5 years (no earlier than 2014), be original (no giclees or reproductions), and not previously shown in the VSU Fine Arts Gallery. Valdosta State University faculty and staff are ineligible. Images submitted must accurately represent actual artwork. Art will be insured while in the gallery (deductible may apply; art is not insured during transit). Artwork may be for sale with no gallery sales commission. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the exhibition.

Presentation requirements: All work must be professionally presented. 2-D work should be framed with plexi-glass and hanging wire (no sawtooth hangers or glass). Paintings may be gallery wrapped with 1.5 inch edges without additional framing. Artwork that is complicated or difficult to install must be installed by the artist. There is no size limitation. Deadline for receipt of accepted work is Friday, January 10, 3PM. The Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery reserves the right to photograph and publish accepted work for promotional purposes.
