Valdosta National 2019

The Valdosta National 2019 is an annual all-media juried competition presenting the best in contemporary art nationally. Hosted by Valdosta State University's Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery in Valdosta, Georgia, this is the 31st year of the exhibition. The juror is Michael McFalls, Professor of Art at Columbus State University.

Eligibility: Open to all artists over 18 living in the United States. All artwork must have been completed in the last 5 years (no earlier than 2013), be original (no Giclees or reproductions), and not previously shown in the VSU Fine Arts Gallery. Valdosta State University faculty and staff are ineligible. Entry fee is $35.00 for one, two, or three artworks. Submit 1-3 images and/or up to 3 videos (minimum 1 total sample required). Images must accurately represent actual artwork. Only one image may be submitted per piece; for multiple views of 3-D work, join photos into a single image before submission.

Presentation requirements: All work must be professionally presented. 2-D work should be framed with plexi-glass and hanging wire (no sawtooth hangers or glass). Paintings may be gallery wrapped with 1.5 inch edges without additional framing. Installation work must be installed by the artist. There is no size limitation. Images submitted must not include the artist's name or additional information. Art will be insured while in the gallery (deductible may apply; art is not insured during transit). Artwork may be for sale with no gallery sales commission. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the exhibition. The gallery reserves the right to photograph and publish accepted work for promotional purposes.

Deadline for entry: November 5, 2018, 11:59 PM Mountain Time. Notifications will be emailed by December 14, 2018. Deadline for receipt of accepted work: January 11, 2019, 3 PM.
