Valdosta National 2015

The Valdosta National is South Georgia's premier national all-media art competition hosted by the Valdosta State University Fine Arts Gallery. 2015 marks the 27th year of this annual juried exhibition showcasing contemporary art from across the nation. The exhibition runs January 20 – February 6, 2015, with $1,500.00 in awards.

Open to all artists over 18 living in the United States. Artwork must have been completed in the last 2 years (no earlier than 2012), be original (no Giclees or reproductions), and not previously shown in the VSU Fine Arts Gallery. Images submitted must accurately represent actual artwork. Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 different artworks; three-dimensional entries may include up to 2 images each showing different views. Submissions may include 1-6 images and 0-3 videos. The juror is Susan Welsh, Executive Director, Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences, Macon, GA.

All work must be professionally presented; 2-D work should be framed with plexi-glass and hanging wire (no sawtooth hangers or glass). Paintings may be gallery wrapped with 1.5 inch edges without additional framing. Artwork that is complicated or difficult to install must be installed by the artist. There is no size limitation. Artwork will be insured while in the gallery (not during transit) and will be for sale with no gallery sales commission. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the exhibition. A catalog will be mailed to all accepted artists after the show concludes.
