UWS Rising Star Exhibition

The 2026 Rising Star Exhibition is open to One-Star and Two-Star members of the Utah Watercolor Society only. The exhibition will be held at Alpine Art and Frame, 430 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, from March 20 - April 30, 2026, with an opening reception and awards presentation on March 20 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Participants may submit a maximum of three entries. Entry fee is $15 per entry, or $10 per entry for full-time high school or college students residing in Utah. All work must be original, completed within the last two years, and may not have been previously exhibited or accepted into a juried exhibition sponsored by the Utah Watercolor Society or WFWS. All paintings must be painted in water media (watercolor, gouache, water-based dyes, ink, acrylic, casein, or egg tempera) in a primarily aqueous manner. Acceptable surfaces include paper, clay board, canvas, or experimental surfaces. The unframed image must be no smaller than 100 square inches and no larger than 660 square inches or 22"x30". Paintings must be framed and ready to hang with wire supports. Gallery-wrapped paintings will not be accepted. All paintings must be for sale.

Online entry only through ArtCall. The entry deadline is February 23, 2026 at 11:59 p.m., including entry details, payment, and digital image(s). Accepted artists will be notified via email on February 25. Paintings must be delivered to Alpine Art and Frame by March 2 for framing (discounted framing available), and framed paintings must be delivered to the gallery by March 16. Pickup is May 1 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. All delivery costs are the responsibility of the artist. Paintings must remain for the duration of the show unless sold. No refunds will be given once payment is received.
