About This Call
The Town of Jackson is seeking images from 4-7 local artists for a public art project. Selected artwork will be printed on vinyl wraps for traffic box covers in the public right-of-way to beautify otherwise run-down or bland areas, enhance the pedestrian experience, and become creative landmarks.
Selected artists will enter into a contract with the Town of Jackson for a seven-year usage fee of $500. Artists retain copyrights to their artwork. Potential artwork locations include Scott Lane and Broadway, The Y Intersection, The 5-Way Intersection of Pearl Ave. and Broadway, Broadway and South Park Loop, Broadway and Maple Way, Millward and Broadway, and Mercill and Cache (some locations pending approval).
Applicants must submit 3-5 high-resolution images (ideally 300dpi) via CallForEntry.org. A one-page letter of interest (500 words maximum) is optional. The Town of Jackson's Public Art Task Force will select one artist for each utility box based on high-resolution original works that convey the theme of "home" in a positive manner, exemplify quality of life in Jackson Hole, demonstrate artistic merit and originality, show appropriateness of scale and subject matter, and appeal to a diverse audience. Images are due April 30th by 5PM, 2024. Finalists will be announced in May 2024, with printing and installation in June 2024. Eligibility is limited to local artists living and working in Teton County or commuting from surrounding communities (Victor, Driggs, Alpine, Pinedale, Wind River Reservation).
