About This Call
Request for qualifications from artists and/or artist teams interested in creating site-specific artwork(s) for the new Utah State Juvenile Justice Services Center in Ogden, Utah. The deadline for materials is September 12, 2016.
The new center is being built on a 7.5 acre plot of land at 717 West 12th Street in Ogden, Utah. The 65,000 square foot facility will contain four secure detention units, a community-based residential unit, a transition unit with an overall capacity for 64 youths, educational classrooms, gymnasium, library, and medical services. The Art Selection Committee has identified the exterior and/or interior of the main entrance, the visiting/waiting room, and exterior courtyard as potential sites for public art installation but remain open to artist-suggested sites.
$125,000 is available for all related expenses of this public art commission(s) including artist fees, fabrication, insurance, shipping, travel, installation, documentation, and other related costs. Resident American or legal resident artists and artist teams are eligible to apply. Art Selection Committee members, staff and Board of Utah Arts & Museums, and JRCA Architects are not eligible. Interested artists may submit applications either online at www.callforentry.org or by compact disc/DVD. The deadline is the same for both methods and is not a postmark deadline.
