USED: A National Juried Exhibition

The Attleboro Arts Museum invites all U.S. artists to submit interpretations of "USED." This national juried exhibition runs June 16–July 14, 2023, with an opening awards reception on Saturday, June 17th from 2–4 PM. Open to all mediums, sizes, and concepts related to the theme. Examples of interpretations include: "I only read used books; she used me and broke my heart; that high-rise apartment used to be a lush garden; used clothing shops are my go-to; I've gotten used to their dry humor." Artists may consider creating with re-purposed materials, depicting well-loved toys, representing cherished antiques, or other related concepts.

Each artist may submit up to two different entries. All mediums and interpretations will be juried. Work must not have been previously exhibited at the Attleboro Arts Museum. Submissions may include 2D, 3D, installation, audio, or video work. For 3D art, submit one composite image showing front and back views rather than two separate entries. All submissions cannot weigh over 100 lbs each. Artists must provide a brief statement about the concept behind each submission. File names should include the title of the art and artist's last name (ex: I'm Used to It_Jones.jpg). Six prizes of $100 each will be awarded.

Entry fees are $18 for Museum members or $25 for non-members, covering up to two pieces. An optional Artist Membership fee is $35. The submission deadline is Saturday, April 22nd at 11:59 PM, Mountain Time. All artists will receive notification of the juror's decision by Thursday, May 18th at 7 PM, MT. Accepted work must be delivered between May 19th and June 3rd, 10 AM–3 PM, EST. All accepted work must be framed, gallery-wrapped, or finished on the edges and ready to hang with a sturdy wire hanging system. In-person pick-up of exhibited work takes place July 15th, 18th, and 19th, 10 AM–3 PM, EST. All art sales are subject to the Museum's commission of 30% for members and 40% for non-members. The AAM will insure all work from arrival through stated pick-up dates, with a maximum coverage of $2000 per piece and a $500 deductible.
