Use of Negative Space

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for the "Use of Negative Space" exhibit at R Gallery in Boulder, Colorado. The exhibit seeks artwork in which negative space is a predominant aspect, with negative space being meaningful and impressive. The show runs January 20 - February 28, 2021 and is open to all mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and mixed-media.

Eligibility is limited to Colorado residents. All entries must be of original design and personal execution. Submissions should include 3-10 images of original artwork. It is best to submit pieces less than 30" wide, including frame or case; only a few spots are available for pieces up to 48" wide. Multiple images may be submitted, but typically only one piece per selected artist is chosen. If submitting fewer than three artworks, duplicate images may be used to meet the minimum requirement.

Entry fee is $35.00 plus a $5.00 media fee. Accepted works must arrive by January 17, 2021. Work will be returned by March 15 unless otherwise agreed upon; a prepaid return label must be provided if sending work by carrier. Notification of acceptance will be sent by December 31, 2020. All pieces must remain up for the duration of the exhibition and must be for sale. R Gallery handles all sales and charges a 50% commission. R Gallery reserves the right to sell accepted works online during the exhibition and will send checks to artists by the 15th of the month following the sale.
