Urban Underground Exhibition

The Peoria Art Guild invites artists to submit work interpreting urban underground themes. The exhibition seeks contemporary and traditional works across all genres including sculpture, mixed media, metal, oil, acrylic, watercolor, digital, photography, glass, woodcraft, found object, and film. Urban Underground is a juried exhibition with a fully equipped sales desk and dedicated gallery sales team that accepts MC/Visa.

Entry fee is $40 (non-refundable). Artists may submit up to two completed original works created after December 31, 2009, in JPG format. All works must be for sale. The juror is Christina Cosio, Assistant Director of Exhibitions and Exhibition Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) Sullivan Galleries. Awards total $1,500 in cash prizes. Artists will be notified of acceptance or rejection by email no less than one week after the deadline.

Event dates are June 28, 2014 through July 23, 2014. Submission deadline is May 19, 2014, with award notification on May 26, 2014, and artwork shipment deadline of June 2, 2014. All works must be gallery-ready upon arrival. The gallery retains a 30% commission on sales, with artists receiving 70%. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements, as well as providing their own insurance. Work not picked up within 90 days of the exhibit's close becomes the property of the Peoria Art Guild.
