Urban Landscape

Urban Landscape is a juried national competition and exhibition exploring how urban landscapes surround and inspire artists, and how these environments influence life and art. Urban landscape is defined as a complex structure resulting from the interaction between human and environment, including social, cultural, and economic dimensions, formed and shaped mainly under the influence of human activities.

Accepted mediums include painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, and fiber art. The juror is Cameron Brian, co-owner and founder of The Transmission Gallery in Oakland and San Francisco, with an MFA in sculpture from The San Francisco Art Institute and extensive teaching and exhibition experience. Eligibility is open to all artists 18 and over residing in the USA. Entry fee is $45.00 plus a $10.00 media fee. Submissions must include 3-5 images of original artwork not previously displayed at Epperson Gallery.

Submission deadline is October 12, 2022. Notification of acceptance is October 19, 2022. Artwork delivery is due October 27, 2022. The exhibition runs November 4, 2022 through January 29, 2023, with an opening reception on November 12, 2022 from 4-6pm. Accepted artists must provide a high-resolution image, bio, and signed consignment agreement. Epperson Gallery retains a 50% commission on sold artwork. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and insurance to and from the gallery. Artwork may also be dropped off at the gallery location.
