Uptown Dallas Mural

Artistry Anew has partnered with Grupo Haddad in seeking a muralist to design and execute a 14ft wide by 40ft high outdoor mural in Uptown Dallas. The style and subject matter need to pay homage to the high fashion, high glamor, metropolitan feel of Uptown, Dallas's premier nightlife and shopping district, but is otherwise open to the artist's vision.

After selection, muralists will be given a total budget of $25,000 with 60% paid up front. This budget will be used to cover the costs of materials and equipment. The finished mural should cover at least 80% of the 14'x40' space and can additionally extend across the rest of the parking garage as well as the street facing wall at the artist's discretion. Once selected, muralists will have from December to January to begin and finish the project.

All muralists must have prior experience designing outdoor murals and must showcase past work before being considered. The artist will be executing the mural themselves or will be on site directing their crew team as project manager with full responsibility for the project. The artist must submit what materials they will be using to ensure outdoor rated longevity, and a protective coating must be applied. The artist will be responsible for all appropriate paint, supplies, tools, crew, and equipment including scaffolding or boom lift. Artists from outside DFW will need to supply their own lodging and transportation. Entry fee is $35.00. Submissions close November 23, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
