About This Call
The City of Upper Arlington Cultural Arts Division invites artists to submit work for exhibition in two gallery spaces. The Concourse Gallery (3600 Tremont Road) features 181 linear feet and 3,500 square feet of space suitable for 2D, 3D, and installations, with exhibits typically hung for 2-3 months. The Community Center Gallery (3200 Tremont Road, fifth floor of the Bob Crane Community Center) features 40 linear feet suitable for 2D works only, also with exhibits typically hung for 2-3 months.
For the Concourse Gallery, artists may submit original 2D or 3D work that is framed and ready for hanging. Applications are open to individual artists, art leagues, groups or collectives, and collaborating artists. For the Community Center Gallery, only 2D original work that is framed and ready for hanging is accepted, with applications open to individual and collaborating artists. All artwork must be suitable for public viewing in a government office building and community center frequented by citizens of diverse opinions, backgrounds, physical abilities, and ages.
Applications must be submitted electronically and include artist information, biography, artist statement, website/social media (if applicable), exhibit proposal with title or theme and concept description, and 4-10 high-resolution images with title, medium, size, and price information. Up to 3 videos may be included. Artists are responsible for delivering and installing their work. The City will process all sales and compensate artists 90% of the purchased price within 45 days after the exhibit closes, retaining 10% of sales. Artists may host a reception, and the City will promote exhibits through its website, Parks & Rec Activity Guide, social media, and e-newsletters.
