Unveiling the Layers - Online Group Show

HMVC Gallery New York is hosting "Unveiling the Layers," an online group show exploring the concept of layers as interpreted through different art forms. The show welcomes artworks from all mediums of visual art, except AI-created art and video/film. Artists can interpret layers as physical elements (textures or materials), emotional states, cultural or historical narratives, or societal themes.

Submission Requirements: Artists must submit high-quality images of their artwork, an artist bio, and an artist statement. Up to 20 artworks may be submitted for consideration, though only one artwork per selected artist will be featured in the final show. Images must be in JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, or WEBP format, with dimensions between 1200-2560 pixels on the longest side and file size under 2 MB. Digital entries must be received by December 28th, 2023 before 11:59 p.m. EST. The entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $10 for additional entries (non-refundable, does not guarantee acceptance). Acceptance notifications will be sent by email by December 31st.

Awards and Exhibition: All participating artists will be featured on the website and virtual gallery, receive a certificate of participation, and have their work included in a video screening on a Times Square jumbotron billboard in January. Cash prizes include $150 for Best of Show, $100 for Second Place, and an online solo show for Third Place. The group show runs January 1st-31st, 2025. Winners of cash prizes must have a working PayPal account; prizes will be sent within 14 days of response. By submitting, artists grant HMVC Gallery New York the right to use images for promotion on their website, social media, and online platforms, with full credit and copyright remaining with the artist.
