Unusual Views

Unusual Views is an online juried exhibition open to all 2D media (excluding photography and digital art). The theme invites pieces featuring an unusual viewpoint or angle, a strange or surprising landscape, or a more abstract interpretation of an "unusual view." Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme in their own way.

The exhibition runs February 22nd through March 21st, with an online opening reception on Thursday, February 27th at 6pm on Zoom. Juror: Michele Poirier Mozzone. Over $300 in cash prizes will be awarded. Entry fee is $15 per image for non-members and $10 per image for members. Submit 1-3 images. Notification of acceptance is February 21st.

Eligibility requirements: Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show. Work must have been completed within the last 10 years and may not be copied from copyrighted material, partially or wholly painted by another, created under direct guidance of another, or created by following a tutorial. Work may be done in a class or workshop using only reference material belonging to the sole artist. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, egg tempera, and other 2D media on any 2D surface. Photography, 3D media, reproductions, and digital art are not acceptable. Open to all artists in the United States. If work is sold, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of the sale.
