Unsung

Webster Arts invites art submissions for Unsung, a national exhibition open to all artists aged 18 or older residing in the US. Artists are encouraged to submit 2D and 3D work that celebrates and explores the unsung hero—the hidden treasures of life that make the world a better place. This exhibit is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on unsung heroes, the backbones and mainstays of individual or corporate worlds. The exhibition will be juried by Lindy Drew, co-founder of Humans of St. Louis, a photographer, author, and storyteller known for engaging strangers in insightful personal interviews and producing visual stories representing community conversations and regional development in St. Louis.

Entry Deadline: July 5, 2023 at 11:59 PM. Entry Fee: $35 for 3 entries, $5 for each additional entry up to 10 images. Submissions must include 3-10 JPEG digital images (1000-1920 pixels on longest side, 72 PPI, 5 MB maximum). All work must be original conception and execution of the artist listed on the application. No reproductions or work previously exhibited at Webster Arts galleries. The exhibit will consider all mediums except video. Framed wall pieces must be wired for hanging and no larger than 48" x 48". All wall works on paper must be framed. Three-dimensional works must not exceed 32" x 32" x 60" or weigh more than 50 pounds. Unassembled work must include detailed assembly instructions.

Accepted works must be shipped to or dropped off at Webster Arts by July 26, 2023. Exhibition Dates: July 28-September 6, 2023. Opening Reception: Friday, July 28 at 6:30 PM at Webster Arts, 2 Summit Ave, Webster Groves, MO 63119. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from Webster Arts. All artwork is insured for declared value from receipt through pickup by carrier. Webster Arts receives a 30% commission on all exhibition sales.
