About This Call
Postmark Center for the Arts and the White River Valley Museum are hosting a competitive juried biennial art exhibition titled "Unprecedented: The Inaugural Postmark Biennial." Curated by Ellen Ito and Jabari Owens-Bailey, this exhibition seeks work from artists living and working in Washington state, highlighting creative explorations in all media created from 2020 to the present. The exhibition runs July 23 – October 15, 2025, with venues at Postmark Center for the Arts (20 Auburn Ave) and White River Valley Museum (918 H St SE), both in Auburn, WA.
Artist awards will be granted: First Place/Best of Show $300, Second Place $200, Third Place $100, and People's Choice $150. Submissions will be juried according to thematic resemblance, conceptual strength, and artistic merit. Artwork may be displayed at either venue at the curators' discretion.
Eligibility: Artists must be 18 years or older, working in all media, and living and residing in Washington State. Submit 5-10 images of eligible artwork (one image per artwork), up to three videos (maximum two minutes each), and an optional artist statement. Entry deadline is May 21, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notifications to artists will be sent in early June. Accepted artists must deliver artwork in person on July 14-15, 2025. An opening reception and curators talk will be held July 23. A closing reception and artist talk is scheduled for October 9, with 3-5 artists invited to speak at each site.
