University of Colorado at Denver Health Sciences Center

The Colorado Council on the Arts and the University of Colorado at Denver Health Sciences Center (UCDHSC) seek to commission artwork for the new Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. The campus is being developed on the former 578-acre Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and will serve as a state-of-the-art, integrated life sciences community focused on health care delivery, education of health professionals, and research advancement.

The campus design emphasizes connectivity and integration through a system of open spaces including three major commons areas, smaller plazas, and open terraces. The committee seeks artists and artist teams who can creatively integrate the campus around main public common spaces and plazas, with a focus on the campus' visual, conceptual, and functional relationships. Opportunities include one or more exterior pieces or installations, two spacious atriums inside the Library and Education II buildings, and up to 10 smaller intimate pieces that create serendipitous experiences of discovery and surprise.
